Jason Nabholz Obituary, Waterloo, IA Mourns Former CBE Command Center Employee

WATERLOO, IA — The Waterloo community is grieving the loss of Jason Michael Nabholz, 35, who passed away on November 11, 2025. Born on December 14, 1989, in Waterloo, Jason was the beloved son of Tim and Donna Nabholz and a cherished figure among family, friends, and colleagues.


Life, Education, and Career

Jason grew up in Waterloo and graduated from Waterloo West High School in 2008. His love for sports and teamwork led him to Central College in Pella, where he played football for four years and earned his degree in 2013. The lessons of perseverance, camaraderie, and dedication from his college days shaped his life and career.

For the past decade, Jason worked in the Command Center for CBE, where he was highly respected by colleagues. Known for his easygoing personality, sense of humor, and strong work ethic, he could brighten any room with his quick wit and infectious smile.


Hobbies and Passions

Outside of work, Jason pursued his passions with enthusiasm. He was a talented pool player, participating in multiple local leagues, and enjoyed golf, sports, and cheering for the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Lakers. Jason also loved spending time with his beloved dog, Kobe, and treasured every moment with family.

Above all, Jason’s heart belonged to his family. He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle, adored by his niece and nephews. His warmth, patience, and humor made him a cherished friend to many.

Jason was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by:

  • Parents: Tim and Donna Nabholz

  • Sister: Hillary (William) Stewart

  • Brothers: Brian (Melissa) Nabholz, Neil (Alyx) Nabholz, Russell Nabholz, Steven Nabholz

  • Niece: Harper Nabholz

  • Nephews: Cooper Falck, Bennett Nabholz, August Stewart, Finley Stewart, Dawson Nabholz, Legend Nabholz

He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends who will honor his memory.


Memorial Service

A visitation to celebrate Jason’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service, located on South Street, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite sports clothing in tribute to Jason’s lifelong love of athletics and team spirit.

Though his passing leaves a deep void, his legacy will live on through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with family, friends, and colleagues.
